Check Engine Light

Ram trucks are built to last!  Even with their impressive dependability, there could be an issue that leads to a check engine light appearing.  If the check engine light comes on in your Ram vehicle, there are a few potential reasons why it is illuminated.  Being proactive about figuring out why the check engine light is on will benefit you and your engine’s health.  It is important to get the vehicle checked out before a small issue becomes a larger issue.  Just some of the reasons your check engine might be on include vacuum leak, mass airflow sensor failure, oxygen sensor failure, or spark plug wire issue.   You should always check your fuel cap to be sure it is on tightly, since a loose fuel cap can trigger the check engine light too.  Other potential issues are a dead or dying battery, ignition coil issue or catalytic converter failure.  If your vehicle has an aftermarket alarm system, this could also be a potential issue.
