Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Named to Best Electric Vehicle List

The Chrysler Pacifica has again received an award for its excellence.  This time, the Pacifica Hybrid was named to Autotrader’s list of Best Electric Vehicles.  This honor adds on to the 100+ awards already won by the Pacifica, which makes it the most awarded minivan during the previous three years.  It was especially thrilling to be included on the first ever Best Electric Vehicles list by Autotrader!

This innovative, segment-first vehicle has a specially modified 3.6L Pentastar V-6 gasoline engine paired to a dual-motor eFlite electrically variable transmission.  This super combination promises a simple and effective driving experience with no need for the driver to choose electric or hybrid mode.  The Pacifica Hybrid features regenerative braking to redirect kinetic energy created by the brakes to help re-charge the battery.  The battery can be fully recharged with an on-board charger in as quickly as two hours if you use a 240-volt charger (Level 2).  This hybrid delivers an 82 mile per gallon equivalent when in electric-only mode.

Autotrader editors compiled their 12 Best Electric Vehicles list to help customers find the perfect battery electric vehicle (BEV) or PHEV for their situation.  The editors looked at a variety of factors which were then rated on a scale from 1-to-5.   The criteria rated included maximum range or electric-only range for PHEVs, drivability, price, and value.
